Where will the SOCCA 2018 Annual Meeting and Critical Care Update be held?

All SOCCA 2018 Annual Meeting and Critical Care Update activities will take place at the Hyatt Regency Chicago in Chicago, Illinois, the Headquarters Hotel.

How do I submit an abstract?

The Abstract Submission Site is now closed. Abstract authors will be notified in February 2018 with the status of their abstract submission.

How do I register for the meeting and what are the registration fees?

You can register onsite in Chicago beginning Thursday, April 26 at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, headquarters of the IARS, AUA and SOCCA 2018 Annual Meetings.

What is included with my registration?

Registered attendees at the Annual Meeting will have access to the SOCCA education sessions, Moderated Poster Discussion Session, exhibits, and SOCCA Reception on Friday, April 27, and the Aligned Meeting Day and SOCCA Focus on Critical Care sessions taking place at the IARS 2018 Annual Meeting on Saturday, April 28.

May I bring a guest to the Annual Meeting?

Guests are invited to attend the Annual Meeting and may register at the appropriate non-member registration rate. You can register onsite in Chicago beginning Thursday, April 26 at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, headquarters of the IARS, AUA and SOCCA 2018 Annual Meetings.

Where can I see the meeting schedule?

Will there be an app for the Annual Meeting?

Yes, the IARS, AUA and SOCCA 2018 Annual Meetings will feature an interactive mobile app that will allow you to view a complete event schedule, explore all educational sessions and activities, and access detailed presenter information. Attendees will also be able to connect with their peers and colleagues though the app and expand their professional network during the Annual Meeting. The app will be available in the Apple and Google Play stores and will be included with registration.

Will there be any dedicated programs for attendees in-training?

The Scholars’ Program at the Annual Meeting is designed for all early-career anesthesiology faculty, fellows, residents and medical students interested in academic anesthesiology in order to support the development of young academic anesthesiologists, increase diversity in the upper levels of anesthesiology and advance the science that informs clinical practice. A day dedicated to exciting lectures, interactive sessions and social events directly focused on the needs of early-career anesthesiologist / scientists, the Scholars’ Program takes place on the Aligned Meeting Day of the International Anesthesia Research Society (IARS), Association of University Anesthesiologists (AUA), and the Society of Critical Care Anesthesiologists (SOCCA) taking place on April 28, 2018.

Will there be any refreshments during the Annual Meeting?

Light refreshments will be available in the morning and afternoon in the exhibits area during the Annual Meeting.

How do I claim CME from the Annual Meeting?

Registered meeting attendees may claim CME credit for the IARS, AUA and SOCCA Annual Meetings by completing the online CME survey within 90 days following the meeting.

How do I print a CME certificate?

Upon completion of the online CME survey and attesting to your level of participation in the educational activity, you will be able to print a certificate for your records from the CME site. The CME survey from the SOCCA 2018 Annual Meeting is now closed. However, attendees of the meeting who have already claimed CME may return to the site at any time to print their CME certificate at http://tinyurl.com/iars-aua-socca-CME.

Physicians wishing to have credits from this educational activity reported to the ABA for the ABA MOCA® Program may do so by entering their eight digit ABA identification number when claiming CME credit.

What is the SOCCA policy for electronic devices during the Annual Meeting?

Please silence all electronic devices during education sessions. Videotaping and recording of sessions is not allowed without the written permission from the presenter(s).

Will there be photographs taken during the Annual Meeting?

The Society of Critical Care Anesthesiologists plans to take photographs at the SOCCA 2018 Annual Meeting and Critical Care Update and to reproduce them in SOCCA news or promotional materials, whether in print, electronic or other media, including the SOCCA website. By participating in the SOCCA 2018 Annual Meeting and Critical Care Update, you grant SOCCA the right to use your name, photograph, and biography for such purposes.

What is the SOCCA policy on smoking during the Annual Meeting?

Smoking is not permitted at SOCCA events. We respectfully request that you abide by our smoke-free policy. Thank you.
